Short Biography

I was born in year 1993 in Murska Sobota, Slovenia. I have done my first learning steps in local kindergarten Bakovci, where I also visited Primary School. In our class, I was always the smallest, what did not prevent me from doing sport. I stepped up to our football team in the first year of Primary school and, since I was not talented in football, changed to cycling in the third year.

Cycling club KK Tropovci was my first cycling club, whose part I remain still today. I was a fast-learner by cycling and after my first fall also officially became "cyclist". I can still remember my first cycling race, which was held in Škofja Loka. On one of the hills, the chain fell down the sprocket wheel. I had nothing else to do than grabbing the chain, putting it back and finishing the race with completely black hands. No matter what, I reached the sixth place. Years were quickly passing and I had to make decision for Secondary school in 2008. I attended Gimnazija Franca Miklošiča Ljutomer.

In the first year, I decided to become a runner. Cycling was still my first priority, but due to bad weather and conditions in winter, retraining from cyclist to runner for a few months was more than beneficial. Later, a few months were expanded to the whole year. Due to setting a new goal - triathlon, I also started to swim. In the sport of swim, bike and run combination, I reached one of the most prominent results in my career - by reaching the third place in European Championships XTERRA Austria, I qualified to the World Championships, held on Maui, Hawaii and finished at the fifth place. I was only sixteen, becoming second Slovenian to qualify to the Hawaii in XTERRA triathlon.

When flying to the Maui, I became interested in flying. I joined local Aeroclub Murska Sobota and started flying sport's aircrafts. Meanwhile, I was finishing my Secondary school in Ljutomer and upon completing final exams attended the study of Mechatronics at the University of Maribor, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. During the study at the University, I met new triathlon discipline, the Ultra-triathlon and attended one to test my endurance. On the World Cup's Double-ultra triathlon in Bakovci I finished in the third place. A month later, I completed my B.Sc. course on the topic of 2-DOF robot controller optimization, using Nature-inspired algorithm. I continued the study on M.Sc. course of Mechatronics and concluded it by Thesis on modelling and optimization of nonlinear robotic systems. Currently, I am a young researcher and Ph.D. student at Faculty of Economics and Business.
